Hugh: Got a closer look today on the tractor identity. BUSTER is a pet name someone painted on the front of the hood. The paint, orange, is not original but I find no traces of any other color. A large black H is the only letter visible on the side of the hood. The rig has a belt pulley, PTO, is elec start, 4 cyl ( gas no doubt) the only # I could find at the base of the gear shift ( 3 sp) is this 3102992. It has a WFE. I don't know why but have a gut feeling this could be an Allis Chalmers tractor. This is as much detailed info as I could get from a visual check. Current owner took the tractor in on payment of money owed to him. He knows almost nothing except he wants $2300 for the unit, has been told some collector might pay that much. I have no intention of buying the tractor at any price...already have two on the place. However,I am curious about the manufacturer, year, possible current value and model. Any info you can dig out would be appreciated. Polk Crawler

As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
