It's not the $40 mail box, but the Principal of the matter. If you try talking to the DA again he may be able to have the trail date rescheduled for a better suited time.
But if you think thats bad try being a cop who has to cancel a vacation at the beach with the family (no reimbursement for expenses) to go to court on a DWI charge thats over 2years old, because the defense keeps getting the trail date rescheduled to suit his time schedule, and the judge threatens to charge you for failure to show if you don't come to court. Yeah makes you wonder why someone would waste their time trying to make a difference in the world when their treated that way. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT!!
