Howling Mouse ???

Ok guys, got one for you.
Got my copy of Successful Farming last night in the mail box.
Started reading Roger Welches tale of a howling mouse. Now, I know old Roger can spin some yarns, but he sounded real serious in this one.
Seems the critter only eats bugs, likes stink bugs, eats little or no grain.
Is he for real or is this another story?
He says they are in the North West states.
I never heard of such a thing.
I feel Ol' Roger laid one on my brain this time.
Anyone else read the article?
