I could not believe what I was seeing on TV.
I had been inactive with my volunteer fire department for 2 years. I went to the firehouse and watched the events on TV with other volunteers, young and old.

I can't remember another time when I saw a grown man cry.

I requested to be placed on active status.

We will not forget. We have not forgotten Pearl either. Just like Pearl Harbor has become ingrained in our history so will 9-11.

I write this from my seat at the watchdesk at the greatest job in the world.
