Allan, A picture is worth a thousand words. Many times we used our tractors or some of them at least in the same manner. A loader here, cultivators there, bean pullers, along with a multitude of other reasons for removing the fenders. While we tried to replace them when possible, it didnt always happen. Many states did not require rear fenders, but here in Michigan tractors were required to be sold with fenders for many years, even though they were a factory option. Other states were more lenient and many tractors were purchased without fenders. Some were even purchased without lights and starter as those were also considered options that were more of a luxury than a necessity.
