Last night they were asking what was needed at the shelters. One of the things mentioned was for volunteers to help run them. It took a while for me to realize that is one thing they should have in excess. The shelter should be full of them, there on a 24/7 basis. They are calling it home for now. Those shelters should be clean, safe, well managed and so on, run by the people being sheltered there with nothing better to do than help, and nowhere else to go anyway, unless maybe they are out looking for work and a new start in life.
