Those tractors were made before so many attorneys stuck their noses into the liability field! Folks back then knew the dangers of their machinery. Those that didn't, soon learned, as they watched an arm or hand, etc., disappear into the machine, at which point they blamed themselves, not the machinery!
Now-a-days, everybody connected to the machine is to blame for the owners' stupid stunts! Or even any type of trouble with the machinery! Think how rich some farmers could have been if they had hired a smart attorney, when they got their arm broken by one of the old hand crank tractors! I guess thats progress, and also why things cost so much more today!
