I think you've got two problems going on here. AZ Jack is right about the packing. I use teflon faucet stem packing from the local hardware store--pretty cheap and works well. Need to be sure to clean out all the old stuff first though. Second, when you say that it bleeds off, are you saying that oil leaks out from the cylinder or do the lift arms go down when the lever is not all the way up? If that's the case, the problem is with your hold position valve. Search the AC forum for a fix for that. I've come up with a better fix (I think) and my loader bucket will stay up for weeks at a time. Email me at jacktally1@yahoo.com if you want to know more about it.
