Being an ex-model builder myself I have to agree with IAOliver. Compressed air is the way to go when it comes to cleaning off dust. I haven't built any new ones in many years but that's the way I keep the ones I've got on display clean. The good thing for me is all mine are army tanks and other equipment so a little dust simply makes them look more realistic....
