Keith did exactly, or almost what I am planning to do, thought why weld or drill and bolt something on the trailer that I don"t want out in the snow and rain, have a nice hitch on the back of the truck and just pop it into the reciever put in the pin and you are ready to go, never going to pull the hitch off the truck, at least mine wont come off, you should have a heavy one there also, just planning on making my bracket to be a couple inches above the deck of the trailer, I think it should work good.
