My dad got a TroyBilt earlier this year at LOWES. Got one with the click Link system. and the Pole saw attachment to go with it. The way I understand it Troy Bilt is now a subsidary of MTD as are a number of other names so I am sure this set up is available under different marks.

The realy neat thing about the trimmer he got is the spring assist starting. The first half of the pull on the rope winds up a spring and the second half spins the engine fast enough to start it. real neat and easier for him to start.
