The only use I've ever heard for alcohol mixed with a fuel is to pick up moisture. Typically a diesel system has two fuel filters, with the primary being responsible for removing any water in the fuel, so I can't see a need for alcohol in a diesel tank. if you want something that works good to put in diesel to clean the injectors, NAPA carries a product called Sea Foam. Dad used it in his service truck around the 50,000 mile mark and swears it ran better when that tank of fuel had been run through.
