Int 674 diesel

I have an International 674 diesel. It will run good for an hour then when it will get hot and start running rough. Once or twice the radiator boiled over, but most of the time it won"t. I just had an inframe rebuild done last winter, and the mechanic billed me for reconditioning head. Since the rebuild I have checked the water pump, radiator and thermostat. It does use a good bit of coolant, but I do not see any in the oil. My thinking is the head, but before I tear it down, and ideas?
