I found the leak. It is from the rubber seal immediately behind the pulley. I called a dealer and he said he had the seal ($4) and the timing gear comver gasket (40 cents) but I didn't want to risk messing up the governor by taking the timing gear cover off. I don't know much about mechanics but it seemed a big task to me. It still leaks, but I guess a quart of oil three times a month (when I mow my yard) is not a high price to pay. I'll just let her leak.
