Skid loader Onan engine question

I've just bought a gehl shid loader with a onan
23 hp engine (2cylinder).It sounds like it's pulling awful hard even at idle.I'd like to change the timing but can't find any distributor
or points to adjust.Where is this stuff located.
I have a Kohler engine on a mower that did the same thing.I adjusted the points while it was running with an allen wrench and it really helped.
