Bring along a can of starting fluid next you run it. When it quits, give it a snort of ether and see if it fires up. That will tell you if the problem is fuel versus spark. My guess is spark. Has it been converted to 12 volts? If so, there are a couple of possibilities. They may have left out the resistor, which could cause the coil to fail or the points to burn out. I've seen where burned points will quit working when they get hot, I'm not exactly sure why. The other potential problem with a 12 volt conversion is the use of a coil with an internal resistor. This makes the conversion easy, but the coils themselves are more trouble-prone.
