Now, mind you, I'm NOT telling you to do this. I'm just telling you what a friend I did when we were young and foolish! I took an empty 12LB Freon can, brazed a large coupling to the top, brazed a length of pipe to the top, hanging inside to near the bottom, to act as a "dip tube", and brazed a 1/8" coupling to the top, to install a "snifter valve", that had a tire valve core in it, so air could be added from a tire chuck. I installed a needle valve on the "dip tube" to control flow, then piped it to a coupling welded in the tailpipe, just ahead of the muffler on an old pickup. I filled it about 3/4 full of used diesel tractor oil, then put a pipe plug in the large coupling, and then I "charged" it with compressed air through the "snifter valve". After a quick drive to town in 3RD gear, to heat up the engine and exhaust system, we cracked open the valve a bit, flowing dirty old diesel oil into the hot muffler. The old pickup certainly wouldn't have passed emissions testing that day! WARNING!!!! Once again, kid, I'm telling you DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME (or at the mini-tractor pull, for that matter), as you'll probably burn yourself, or blow yourself up!

As far as I was aware a fordson was a fordson and it was only through trial an
