Straw qeustions...

I have 100 acreas of wheat straw in NorthWest Indiana that I am selling to a local farmer who bales straw and sells it to large users by the semi-load.
I was told the bales would be 40-43 lbs each...find out that they are 48-49 lbs each. I am getting paid $0.30 per bale. THe guy then turns around and is selling by the ton...
I wonder if he is making out becasue he pays the farmers less if he gets more per bale since he is buying by the bale and then sells by weight. SO the question - is this fair? Also, what do straw bales usually weigh...maybe this is normal?
