O.T. Dodge Caravan Sending Unit

My wife's 2000 Caravan with a 3.0 engine has the oil pressure light coming on at an idle after driving for a while. Raising rpm slightly makes it go off. The engine does not "clatter", so I think the problem may be in the sending unit. Anyone have any similar experience ? Also, does anyone know where on the engine the sender is located? Thanks, doorman
