Not to advertise for people but I would try Tom Underwood out of Kansas. He deals in NOS parts. Usually advertises as "Parts of the Past".

Using a baler belt will work but the splice will make noise and there is no crown on a bailer belt. The original belts are thicker in the middle then on the edge. The crown helps keep the belt on just like the crown on the pulley helps.

Should add that I have cut down baler belts in a table saw and used them with fair success in machines and machine tools.
