I had a seasoned mechanic help me on a Detroit in a truck and needed a water pump gasket which wasn't in the kit. He took a manilla file folder held it over the part and took a small ball pien hammer and tapped out the outline of the gasket. The gasket punched out almost factory like. The gasket held.
