Ours used to do the same thing every once in a while when it sat for a few monthes at a time. Used to have to clean the points with Emery cloth. Then it would fire up like nobody's business. Wouldn't you feel like you were ripping your 'friend' off with an offer like that? Especially if you spent the three minutes to fix it in his driveway? I'd feel awfully guilty myself.... Even points, condensor, cap, rotor, plugs and wires are well under $100 to buy new. And if you do open the distributor, don't lose the little clip on the rotor... ;)
