Mike.........NO, I don't think thats a valid concern. Too many 12v conversions are done to "band-aide" other problems, because good ol'Billy-Joe-Bob down at the local spittin'-n-whittlin' waterhole sez "its tha thang to do" and takes 'nutter pull of barley-pop.

Its true that most 4-cylinder engines stop at the same place and that the flywheel ring gear gitts added wear at that place. Well, 1&2-cylinder engines have that same problem, big deal.

The only 12v concern is don't crank forever 'cuz ya'll melt the starter guttz. Iff'n it don't start within 10 seconds better be for finding out why. Iff'n you crank for a minute, letter cool for 10 mins...........Dell, a 12v advocate for the right reasons

That said, I haven't found the right reason for my eazy startin 6v 1952 8N, and I know how to do it right, the FIRST time. Infact, I know 8-ways to do it and they all work.
