I worked for a rental yard and was head mech for a few large equipment companys. This is what we were told.by the dot as long as the piece of equipment did not leave the site we could run any fuel we wanted But if that piece of equipment entered onto any city or state road or hiway it had to have the taxable fuel in it period. I can't remember how many fuel tanks that I've had to drain, flush and refill. here they dye the untaxed fuel. and you just can't add fuel to delute it as you will still have dyed fuel
the subject of Farm plates as I understand it is for taking goods from farm to market and only good in the county/state they are issued.just my thoughts Jer
