Went to the auction east of Edmonton today where the UDLX was up for auction. It was original, never restored. Looked complete, tin was good (although the cab had been off and stored outside for years I would guess). One fender was off but was there. Engine was free and had everything on it, they didn't try to start it. Needed a total restoration but would be a good start for the right guy. I guess you'd say the whole thing was in weathered condition. Serial number was 310576. It went for $60000 Canadian, that would be about 48 grand US. Plus the federal GST tax of 7%. Bought by a guy just west of Edmonton. I was told his dad just sold a huge chunk of family property on the city's west limits for 10 million so the UDLX didn't dent his pocket book too badly I guess. There was also a 1934 Harley Davidson that went for 20000 Canadian. Too rich for my blood. All I bought was a hamburger but it was an interesting sale. There was a beautiful Oliver Super 88 that was sold after I left, that one I could've lived with.
