I second that, Rusty- I just finished putting a new deck on my trailer yesterday- it was 2 X 6 Douglas Fir, and lasted 10 years, sitting outside in rainy western Washington. The wiring was also shorting out, so was a good time to do a complete refurbish. Guys I've talked to with steel decks wish they had wood- gets slick with oil drippings, hay polishes it up to where it is very hard to keep load from shifting, etc.
