i have an agri 5 bush hog...same thing as a rotary mower
per the manufacture
the recommned oil is et or ep 140
cant remember if it"s ep or et it think it stands for extreme pressure or extreme temperature...the fill level is ur allen plug
which should be about half way up the gear box.... one can get away with 85/140 if u cant find straight 140......nuff sed
