A few weeks ago I would have said never ever sandblast a carb, but since then I have visited with a man who rebuilds tractor carbs profesionally. Some of the carbs he gets to rebuild have been removed fron "fencerow" tractors, and are basically just one big glob of rust and crud. The very first step is to sandblast that carb, that way at least you can find the screws that hold it all together. The remaining cleaning processes will ensure that all of the sand is removed. Seems like a good idea to me.
