This animal first tested 'inconclusive' back in November 2004. Coincidentally, Bush was on a trip to Canada at the time to hash out trade issues with the prime minister of Canada. At a dinner with the Canadian prime minister, Bush bragged that he eats Canadian beef all the time and has suffered no ill health effects. He said that he was pleased to see that beef from Alberta was on the dinner menu. Another mad cow discovery during his trip would have been a major emarassment to bush, so the USDA covered it up and did no follow up tests on the animal. That would probably have been the end of the story, but then a USDA veterinarian came out a few months ago and blew the whistle on the whole coverup. The USDA still refuses to reveal details about the origin of the latest animal, but rumors I'm hearing are that it too has a Canadian connection.
