Wonder if it was the old 4020 that rolled or it was just the bales were bounced off the wagon? Wonder if it was large square, large round or small square? You are right, it sounds like high speeds and a sharp turn may have been involved. The sketchy details sound suspicious too. Then there are those lazy knobs who will not dismount even a quick-attach loader. They drive around with the loader and bucket at max height???
