I use a 4" grinder from harbor freight to sharpen my blades on the mower and the discs are available from them alse; real cheap. Would much rather change out a disc than change out the blade.

I don't think angle is all that important (my opinion). The 40 degree number just means that you don't want a long skinny edge; a short fast edge is desired.

But you do want somewhat of a blunt end on the blade as a razor edge won't last long if you hit anything...but it sure cuts sweet till then. Grin.
