I don't know which Craftsman Tap & Die set you have but, the ones I have specifically state, "Die stocks,T-handle tap wrenches and tap and reamer wrenches carry the Craftsman Lifetime warranty. I have the high speed Professional sets. Also, the local managers at these stores are under pressure to keep costs down. Some are instructing their cashiers do do things that aren't correct. When one asked me for a receipt, I asked to speak to the store manager. Had my replacement on the spot! While looking in the current Craftsman catalog I see all the Die sets have the Warranty on the wrenches
