Had a friend who needed a large hole in the back yard for a radio tower a while back. We rented one of those type tools from the local rent-shop. As I remember, it had an 8hp engine. Did a suprisingly good job for it"s size. Never win in a comparison with a real backhoe, but it did an outstanding job for it"s size. Sure beat a shovel! My main complaint was that the controls all seemed to operate backwards. (You know, push the lever when you want to pull!) But $ seems awful high.
