You want a minimum 35 hp tractor with 3ph and with live pto, or better yet, independent pto. Power steering is nice but not essential. Your choice as to gas or diesel, but diesel uses a lot less fuel. Its much better to get one that a nearby dealer supports.
MF135 is popular and holds its value well.
I would prefer a Ford 3000 or 4000 since they have can have 8 speed transmission, to the 135 MF's 6 speed.
John Deere 2020 is good. I don't reccommend a John Deere 2010. John Deere 1520 also good.
I had an Oliver 550 and loved it.
There are several models of Internationals that are that size, like 424 and 444. Sit on them first and see if they are comfortable to you. Some of them have a crowded operator area.
Ford 8N, 9N, 2N, don't have live power and are built too light. Some Ford 800, 600, have live power.
