Hi Jim, For oil, yes soap will work. Only used when head gasket goes bad, and oil is forced into cooling system. And then you flush and flush and flush, as the suds aren't easy to get out either. I watched a guy do that on an IH 466 once. It did the trick. If the usual sludge in the cooling system that builds up over time is the problem, then there are a number of good comercial rad flushing products out there to do the job. Check out the auto supply. They will have one, no fuss, no muss. HTH. Rod
