Well, I guess our insurance company jipped my Dad. I looked it up when it happened and told him the same thing, but he wouldn't listen. He said if the frame was shot, then the truck would be totaled. I tried to tell him that the insurance company would rather replace the frame than total a $35,000 2003 truck with less than 25000 miles. They sent it into the local body shop to staighten the frame. When we got it back, I took my hand and ran it along the frame where it had bent and sure enought the metal had been stretched, so when it was straightened there was a nice hump that was about 3/8 of an inch tall/recessed (one side went up and the other made a valley in the frame). Told him then that the frame was not supposed to be used it if was kinked, but we still use it and he told me that once they are straightened that they don't bend again from a load on the rear??? Thanks for your information. By the way, this is the older style, nonboxed frame. 2003 was the last year they used this frame before they switched to the frame that they use up until today. Thanks
