I agree with the 16' or so. I would place poles side by side as wide as you want with no gaps between, then consider finding rough cut oak or cotton wood 3x12 or 4x12 and lag to the poles for a top deck.
The biggest thing to remember is to add either vertical poles driven into each back or pour concrete to create abutments. otherwise the storm water will take out your bridge each time it rains.
