I"ll go along with what some of the others have been telling you----
If it were mine, I"d start with checking the coil. I"ve had the wire break inside the insulation on the coil, and from outside appearnce, everything looked good, but GENTLY bending each little wire, I found one broken.
I had a pick up coil go bad once on my wife"s car, but, in that case, the engine would die whenever you tried to accelerate---again, very small wires, plus you just about have to remove the distributor to get to it (it sits beneath the rotor/flyweights).
