Could be a coil. Had an S-10 of the same vintage that started doing the same thing. I let the guy at the parts store guide me on what he sold the most of and started replacing parts in that order. His opinion was "no way it"s a coil". After being stranded in an airport parking lot at midnight and having to get a cab home I had the truck towed to the GM dealer who charged me for a new coil and the problem went away.
