720diesel, I have owned both side and rear discharge and greatly prefer the rear discharge since it spreads the grass evenly (more or less) behind the mower. In thick grass the side discharge will make windrows. Also, you can cut equally close to the edges on both sides of the mower. I think a 5 foot one is all a 25 hp tractor will handle. Check deck thickness and don't get one with a thin deck. KEH
