Old Dodge Truck

I've been working on an old dogde truck tryint to get it running again. I have it all back together but I can't get gas to the carb. Or even in the fuel line. Someone has take a 5 gal container that I think is for like a boat maybe that lays flat and there is a hose that comes out of it and there is a lid that has a vent screw thing in it. How can I get gas to the carb and in the line w/ out sucking on the end of the hose without my mouth? Any ideas would help. Thanks!
