For what it is worth,Deere says if the wear ring in removed from the seal then the seal is ruined and it is nearly impossible to install the seal without removing the wear ring unless you use the proper seal installation tool.My dealer always lets me borrow tools but I also used to work for him too.I would pay the $70 an hour and let him eat the cost if the new seal didn't fix the leak.
