Extended hitch for 781 CASE/IH Forage Harvestor

Finally found an extension hitch for this harvestor, and found it won't fit on my 8160 FORD/NH Drawbar. The drawbar is missing the 5/8" hole, behind the main hitch hole. My question is: Do I drill a new hole in the tractor drawbar, or rig up a heavy duty U-bolt affair( like on New Holland 1000 rpm,extension) to avoid making any extra holes in the bar?
