Farmall 230

I asked this down in the farmall area but will ask here also.
A guy up the road from me has a 230 that runs good sort of. Has a rebuilt carb, 12 volt con. but when running it has a pop out the exhaust, he plans to get it down to my shop this next week for me to look at, I have ideas on what maybe wrong but I always like to see what others think. By the way it starts easy just that pop pop from the exhuast.
