They can attract mosquitoes from quite a distance. In town the article indicated that they would rid your place of mosquitoes but would likely bring more to your neighbors as the mosquitoes crossed their property to get to your machine.

One drawback that I see is the need for chemical attractants in addition to the propane. It may be worth it to you if you are bothered.

You might try this tip--place white dinner plates around your property that have water on them and also a few drops of "Lemon Fresh Joy" dishwashing soap. Cheap enough to give a try before buying a machine.
