It's unclear what kind of insurance policy you have. If it's a "farm and ranch" policy, then you should be covered for activity related to your farming activities. Best to read the fine print, though. If you just have a homeowner's policy, then I would guess you are not covered once you're on the road.

Something I'm thinking of doing is getting an "umbrella liability" policy. These policies cover you only after your other policies (homeowners, business, auto, farm, etc.) have paid out. These are relatively cheap, but could save you from bankruptcy in the case of a large judgement.
