I only haul my stuff (grain & equipment) and was told by DOT that I have to have the #'s 'cause with one trailer I'm plated for 27K and gvw at 24K, and other trailer at 33K plus with agvw at 30K and the only reason that I don't have to have class A CDL'sn and a fuel permit is I run farm plates on truck and trailers. I don't know about everywhere else but here you ask 3 DOT officers and you get 15 different answers. LOL David
