I have a pull-type. In that type, I think bigger is better, because you get a better job of leveling the wider you are - here is my M pulling a 9 footer. The M handles it nicely.

With a 3 point, I would think that you would want it just barely bigger than the wheels. The reason I think this is because if you tilt to one side or another, the farther the blade is out there, the more it's going to dig in. With a pull-type, you don't need to worry about that.

Now, I don't have the scarfs on my box scraper, but I would think that if my M can handle 9 feet, your 720 should easily handle 6 or 7.
