LOL! in my village we have the remains of a castle built in 1100 and the Church( which is still up and running!) was built about the same time. What you have to remember is anything older than say 200-300 years or so in N. America was made by the Native Americans (ie Indians) out of wood and canvas and has long since gone. Funny, us Brits do take things like that for granted, we will walk into a Norman or even Saxon church without batting an eyelid. You walk into York minster or something like that , (which is awe inspiring, but we are 'used to it' ) and you can hear the American and Canadian tourists staring at the architecture in dis-belief and saying...."Oh My God....oh my god"
