If it were me I would get a FEL backhoe, one machine for heavy trenching and digging and the FEL for gravel and dirt pile moving. Remember that Insurance is expensive and that some folks dont or wont pay after the job is finished. A buddy of mine who did all my excavating work pays $25,000+ in insurance and licenses and does about $200,000/year in sales, the cash jobs are nice.
